We do small-scale gutter repair and maintenance. Being clear about where that stops is more useful to you than pretending it doesn't.

When you need a roof plumber
Some work is beyond maintenance, and patching it would be doing you a disservice. If we find any of the following, we will tell you plainly and you can get the right trade in.
- Full gutter replacement or re-guttering
- Gutters with the fall set wrong along the run
- Widespread rust or metal that has failed through
- Rotted fascia behind the gutter line
- Relocating or replacing downpipes and stormwater connections
You can't assess a gutter that's full.
Most of the repairs we do are found during a clean. Packed with leaf matter, a gutter hides everything that matters — the state of the brackets, whether joints are weeping, how the fall actually runs, what the fascia behind it is doing.
Clear it out and all of that becomes visible. So every clean produces a graded list of what we found, and you decide what to act on and when.

Single-storey with clear access is straightforward. Two-storey, steep pitch or tight setbacks are not.
We don't do unapproved extra work and bill for it afterwards. If we find something during a clean, we photograph it, quote it, and wait for you to say yes.

Gutter repair questions we get asked.
Do you replace whole gutters?
No. We do small-scale repair and maintenance work — reattaching, resealing, replacing brackets and fixings, clearing blockages. Full gutter replacement and re-guttering is roof plumbing, and it belongs with a licensed roof plumber. If that is what your property needs, we will tell you straight rather than patch something that is past patching.
Can you fix a sagging gutter?
Usually, if the sag is caused by failed or missing brackets rather than the gutter itself being deformed. We reattach the run and replace the fixings holding it. If the profile has bent or the fascia behind it has rotted, that is a bigger job and we will say so.
My gutter leaks at the join — can that be sealed?
Often yes. Joints and corners are where sealant perishes first, and resealing a sound joint is straightforward. What matters is whether the surrounding metal is still good. We photograph the joint so you can see what we are working with before anything is decided.
How do you know what needs repairing?
Most repairs we do are found during a clean. Once the debris is out, the state of the brackets, joints, fall and fascia is actually visible — and every finding goes into your Property Health Report™ graded Low, Medium or High with a timeframe. You decide what to act on.
How much do gutter repairs cost?
It depends on what is wrong and how much of the run is affected — a single perished joint and a whole side of failed brackets are very different jobs. We quote a fixed price once we have seen it, and we quote the repair separately from any cleaning so you can see what you are paying for.
Can you do repairs at the same time as a gutter clean?
That is usually the most sensible way to do it, since access is already set up and the gutters are clear enough to work on. If we find something during a clean we will photograph it, quote it, and let you decide — we do not do unapproved extra work and bill for it afterwards.
Do you repair downpipes?
We clear blocked downpipes and reattach or resecure loose ones. Replacing a damaged downpipe or altering where it discharges is plumbing work and goes to the appropriate trade.
What if the damage is worse than expected?
We stop and talk to you before doing anything beyond what was quoted. If it turns out to be beyond small-scale repair, we will tell you that honestly — including when the right answer is a roof plumber rather than us.
